When you need (or want) a little Extra oomph in your chai latte. . .
Dirty Chai Latte
Ingredients:
1 chai tea bag (or 1 teaspoon loose-leaf chai tea)
1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
1 shot espresso (or 1/4 cup strong brewed coffee)
1/2 cup water
1-2 teaspoons sweetener (sugar, honey, or maple syrup), optional
1–1.5 oz of your choice of liquor (e.g., Baileys, Kahlúa, spiced rum, or whiskey)
A pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg (for garnish), optional
Instructions:
Brew the Chai Tea:
Boil 1/2 cup of water and steep the chai tea bag for 4-5 minutes.
Remove the tea bag and set aside.
Prepare the Milk:
Heat 1 cup of milk in a small saucepan until warm (but not boiling).
Whisk vigorously or use a milk frother to create foam.
Make the Espresso:
Brew 1 shot of espresso or prepare 1/4 cup strong coffee.
Spike It:
Add 1–1.5 oz of your chosen liquor to the brewed chai tea.
Combine:
Pour the chai tea and liquor mixture into a mug.
Add the espresso shot.
Top with steamed milk and foam.
Sweeten & Garnish (Optional):
Stir in sweetener if desired.
Sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg on top for extra flavor. CHEERS!
