Happy Hump Day! Hope you’re having a good week so far. I’m guessing many of you are gearing up to watch the Super Bowl this weekend, or at least to watch the Super Bowl commercials. Here are a few sweet Super Bowl treats for your Big Game festivities.
YUM!
Everyone loves brownies. Now add a swirl of caramel and you’ve got yourself the tailgate table winner!
Caramel Brownies
Ingredients:
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
2 cups granulated sugar
4 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease a 9x9-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter. Allow it to cool slightly.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and sugar. Mix until well combined.
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
Drizzle half of the caramel sauce over the brownie batter.
Add the remaining brownie batter on top of the caramel layer and spread it evenly.
Drizzle the remaining caramel sauce over the top.
Use a knife or toothpick to create a swirl pattern by gently dragging it through the batter and caramel.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not wet batter).
Allow the caramel brownies to cool completely in the pan before cutting. ENJOY!
CHEERS!
Classic. Fun. Strong with a hint of sweetness.
Yes, I’m talking about the perfect . . . Old Fashioned.
