Whew! We’re at the halfway point, friends. I can see the weekend ahead! So, let’s make some treats for ourselves, shall we?

YUM!

Here’s a sweet, devilish treat for those 21+! These cinnamon-schnapps-spiked candy apples are the Halloween treat we deserve for getting through October and allll the festivities!

Spiked Candy Apples

Ingredients:

  • 6 large organic apples

  • 6 long wooden skewers or popsicle sticks

  • 2 cups white sugar

  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup

  • 3/4 cup water

  • 5 tablespoons cinnamon schnapps

  • Red food coloring (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Organic apples are a must, or you will need to soak the apples in 6 cups of boiling water with 1 teaspoon of vinegar. Remove from heat. Dip apple in water. Let dry completely.

  2. Line a cookie sheet with waxed or parchment paper.

Wash and dry the apples. Insert a stick into each apple.

  3. Heat sugar, corn syrup, schnapps, and water over medium heat. Add red food coloring if desired. Cook until a candy thermometer reaches 300 (hard crack).

  4. Remove from the heat and carefully dip each apple into the mixture, spinning to cover. Allow excess candy to drip back into the pan.

  5. Place on prepared sheet and allow them to harden.
