CHEERS!
The New Year is here, the kids are back in school, and we’re doing our own little celebration with a Blood Mary or two. It has tomato juice and veggies so it’s kinda healthy, right?
New Year Bloody Mary
Ingredients:
1 1/2 oz (45 ml) vodka
3 oz (90 ml) tomato (or clamato) juice
1/2 oz (15 ml) fresh lemon juice
1 dash Worcestershire sauce
1 dash hot sauce (adjust to taste)
Salt and pepper to taste
Ice cubes
Garnish ideas: Celery stalk, lemon or lime wedge, pickles and/or olives, bacon, beef jerky, shrimp
Instructions:
In a shaker, combine vodka, tomato juice, fresh lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, salt, and pepper.
Add ice cubes to the shaker.
Shake the mixture well to combine and chill the ingredients.
Strain the mixture into a highball glass filled with ice.
Garnish with a celery stalk, lemon wedge, bacon, olives, etc.
Optionally, you can rim the glass with salt or a mixture of salt and spices for an extra kick.
YUM!
The Bloody Mary garnishes got me thinking about bacon. And how if you’re already making bacon for your Bloody Mary, you might as well make these easy Maple Bacon Sugar Cookies to go with it. Yes, please.
