Sweet, dark, sparkling . . . yes, please.
Lambrusco Smash
Ingredients:
3 oz Lambrusco (a sparkling red wine)
1 oz gin (or vodka, if preferred)
1/2 oz fresh lemon juice
1/2 oz simple syrup (or to taste)
3-4 fresh mint leaves
Ice
Lemon wheel, dark cherries, and mint sprig for garnish
Instructions:
In a shaker, gently muddle the mint leaves with the lemon juice and simple syrup to release the minty aroma.
Add the gin and a handful of ice to the shaker. Shake vigorously for about 10 seconds.
Strain the mixture into a glass filled with fresh ice. Top with chilled Lambrusco.
Garnish with a lemon wheel, dark cherries, or a mint sprig. Serve immediately and enjoy! CHEERS!
