Happy Hump Day! How is everyone doing this week? I hope you’re hanging in there — and even have something to smile about. If you don’t, scroll down for some dark, delicious treats that are sure to bring a smile to your face. Enjoy!


CHEERS!

Sweet, dark, sparkling . . . yes, please.

Lambrusco Smash

Ingredients:

  • 3 oz Lambrusco (a sparkling red wine)

  • 1 oz gin (or vodka, if preferred)

  • 1/2 oz fresh lemon juice

  • 1/2 oz simple syrup (or to taste)

  • 3-4 fresh mint leaves

  • Ice

  • Lemon wheel, dark cherries, and mint sprig for garnish

Instructions:

  1. In a shaker, gently muddle the mint leaves with the lemon juice and simple syrup to release the minty aroma.

  2. Add the gin and a handful of ice to the shaker. Shake vigorously for about 10 seconds.

  3. Strain the mixture into a glass filled with fresh ice. Top with chilled Lambrusco.

  4. Garnish with a lemon wheel, dark cherries, or a mint sprig. Serve immediately and enjoy! CHEERS!


YUM!

Dark chocolate is good for you — don’t argue with that — and nuts and seeds and dried fruit are healthy too, so this is a little bit of crunchy health food disguised as a decadent treat. I’m in.
