An Old-Fashioned but make it fall-ish. . .
Autumn Old-Fashioned
Ingredients:
2 oz bourbon (or rye whiskey)
1/4 oz maple syrup (for sweetness with a fall flair)
2 dashes Angostura bitters
1 dash orange bitters (optional)
1 spoonful of apple cider (adds an autumn touch)
Orange peel (for garnish)
Cinnamon stick (for garnish)
Ice (preferably a large cube)
Instructions:
Add the maple syrup, Angostura bitters, orange bitters (if using), and apple cider to a glass.
Drop a large ice cube into the glass, then pour the bourbon (or rye) over the ice.
Stir the mixture for about 20–30 seconds until chilled and diluted to taste.
Express an orange peel over the drink to release the oils, then drop it in. Add a cinnamon stick for a warm, spicy aroma. CHEERS!
